SLEA Annual Sessions 2016: Sri Lanka Economic Association calls for registration

The Sri Lanka Economic Association (SLEA) will be holding its 2016 Annual Sessions on October 21 and 22, at Taj Samudra, Colombo 1.                                               
The theme of this year’s Annual Sessions is ‘Fiscal reforms: An imperative for sustained growth’.  The Inaugural Session on October 21 will be followed by four Technical Sessions on October 22.   
Ten academic papers on issues falling under the following four sub-themes will be presented at the Technical Sessions. 
Session-I – Present scenario and the way forward: Present fiscal policy and status - K.M.M. Siriwardana; Resource gap and revenue mobilization - Dr. Priyanga Dunusinghe.
Session-II – Public debt and public investment: Is there a debt crisis or not? - Dr. Dushini Weerakon; Resource gap and public investment - Prof. Sirimevan Colambage; Public debt sustainability - Prof. Frank Westermann.
Session-III – Enabling environment for investment: Enabling environment for the domestic private investor - Dr. Shan Fernando; Good governance for FDI - Malraj Kiriella; FDI trends in Asia including Sri Lanka - Prof. Deepak Sable-Sonambekar. 
Session-IV – National polices and trade imperatives: Strengthening of national policies - Dr. Ravi Ratnayake; Enhancing productivity and export competitiveness - Prof. Sunil Chandrasiri.
