Power disruption due to breakdowns- CEB

The Ceylon Electricity board said that certain areas of the country may experience power cuts spanning a few hours, due to breakdowns at the power generating plants in Norochcholai, Samanalawewa and transmission lines in Kotmale and Biyagama.

Speaking to Daily Mirror Online the Deputy General Manager of the CEB D. Dahanayake said that a part of the Norochcholai coal power plant has broken down at 4 pm today due to a tripping in one of the sections.

He also said that officials were currently in the process of repairing the affected plants. (L.P)
