In Negombo, a 60-year-old person was fatally shot at Galkanda Junction by two men who arrived on a motorcycle. The suspects fled the scene following the shooting.
Meanwhile, another shooting was reported in the Mahakumbukkadala area of Sembukuliya. The injured man was initially admitted to tge Puttalam Hospital and later transferred to the National Hospital in Colombo for treatment, where he succumbed to his injuries.
Initial investigations revealed that the shooting in Puttalam was over a land dispute.
The suspect involved in the incident has been arrested.
