The Hotels Association of Sri Lanka (THASL) today said that the Association is willing to work with the membership to offer selected hotel facilities in the battle against preventing the spread of COVID-19 in the country. THASL President Sanath Ukwatte said the members of the association have been following with deep appreciation the strenuous efforts made by the Government to contain COVID-19 crisis. "Our members are willing to house those who are subject to two weeks of quarantine at remote locations. In addition, THASL has come forward to house medical staff who are working around the clock who are unable to get home after their work shift. The number of rooms will depend on demand but it will help to maintain wellbeing of this important staff who is performing an yeoman service to the nation at this crucial time. THASL stands ready to support the Government’s efforts in fighting the COVID-19 pandemic and supporting the wider community, especially our healthcare professionals at a time when they need it most," Mr. Ukwatte said.
