Police Sports Club put more misery to what has been a horrific season for Navy Sports Club as they handed them a 34 points (five tries, three conversions and one penalty) to 30 points (four tries, two conversions and two penalties) defeat in their Dialog Inter-Club League Rugby Tournament Super Round fixture played at Police Park yesterday (24).
Police SC led 19-18 at half time and held on to the lead until the end to secure a sensational win.
Emosi Vunivosa (2), Janith Chandimal, Iroshan Silva and Sachith Silva did the scoring for the winners with Sachith Silva (2) and Janith Chandimal (1) adding the extra points.
Janith Chandimal put over the penalty.
Meanwhile, Richie Dharmapala, Nirosh Perera, Gihan Perera and Stephan Gregory scored a try each for Navy SC with Chathura Seneviratna converting two tries.
Seneviratna also fired across two penalties.
