Campus T20 Cricket Tourney ICBT down FOG to qualify for World finals

International College of Business and Technology (ICBT) won the Red Bull Campus T20 National Cricket Tournament when they defeated Foundation of Goodness (FOG) by two wickets with five balls to spare in the final played at the Colts Grounds yesterday. FOG, invited to take first lease of the wicket suffered an early setback and lost their openers with the score on 13 in the third over.


However, Sammu Ashan who made a top score of 64 in 43 balls steered the side with a 52-run stand for the third-wicket with Pasindu Isira.


Later, he was associated in useful partnerships with Pramod Hettiwatte and Ramesh Mendis while Dilshan Kanchana also chipped in with a valuable 25 in 18 balls to help FOG end their innings with a score of 169. ICBT in their run chase got off to a flying start through their openers Sadeera Samarawickrama and Lahiru Milantha who put on 55 runs in 35 balls.
In addition, Salinda Ushan and Priyamal Perera put on a valuable 48 runs in 29 balls before they slumped to 130 for five. However, Vishad Randika and Himasha Liyanage rescued them with a 28-run stand for the sixth-wicket. 


ICBT also qualified to represent Sri Lanka at the forthcoming Red Bull Campus T20 World Tournament scheduled to be played in Dubai, UAE.

ICBT: 170/8 in 19.1 overs (Sadeera Samarawickrama 32, Salinda Ushan 29, Lahiru Malintha 28, Priyamal Perera 21, Ramesh Mendis 2/33).
