Basuru Siriwardana makes debut as film producer ‘Kathuru Mithuru’ Alankulama Films making vibrant comeback

When the late Dhammika Siriwardana started Alankulama Films way back in 2008, he gave his eldest son Basuru to play vital roles in the production team, especially as Executive Producer. Groomed by his father who is even today remembered for his humility and sincerity, Basuru Siriwardana is now making a golden debut in the silver screen domain as a producer.

His maiden film production ‘Kathuru Mithuru’ directed by veteran Giriraj Kaushalya is all set to hit screens soon in theatres islandwide. After a seven-year pause, ‘Kathuru Mithuru’ will indeed open the second innings of Alankulama Films, with a talented star cast comprising Jayalath Manoratne,  Mahendra Perera, Gihan Fernando, Giriraj Kaushalya, Rodney Warnakula, Priyantha Senevirathne, Kusum Renu and others.


Ruwan Costa has handled the cinematography, Priyantha Dissanayake the make up and Ajith Ramanayake the editing while Yasith Siriwardana is the Executive Producer. Nilantha Priyadarshana is the production coordinator.


Kathuru Mithuru is the seventh film production of Alankulama Films.


Its producer Basuru Siriwardana is the chairman of Alankulama Holdings under which operates Family Super supermarket, Family Bakers, Caserollee, Mango Mango Restaurants, Golden Mango Banquet Halls and Alankulama Films.
