Navin clarifies: I didn’t laugh to insult Easter attack victims

Commenting on a video that is being shared on social media, Plantation Industries Minister Navin Dissanayake told Parliament yesterday that he did not laugh to insult the people killed in Easter Sunday attacks. 

He said a video of him laughing had been tactically edited and published on social media. 

“I did not laugh to insult the people killed in Easter Sunday attacks. I burst into laughter at some gestures made by a journalist. The video has been edited to misinterpret my speech,” he said.
