Pregnant women, children stranded in Dubai brought back to SL

A total of 289 Sri Lankans including around 100 mothers and 8 children stranded in United Arabi Emirates (UAE) arrived in Sri Lanka today, the officer-in-charge of the Bandaranayake International Airport (BIA) said.

Majority of them are migrant workers who had lost jobs due to COVID-19.

The SriLankan Airlines flight UL-226 carrying the passengers arrived at the BIA at 5.35 a.m.

Pls allow the commercial flights to come to BIA. There are many people who want to come back to Sri Lanka. Give priority plan to bring our citizens back.

These Sri Lankan pregnant women and some with their children who are stranded in the Middle East should have been given top priority to return to Sri Lanka than everybody else. They have contributed billions of rupees to the Sri Lankan economy since the 80's and helped to boost the economy which was on the verge of total collapse.
