Four arrested for selling a Buddha statue made of a Blue Sapphire

Four suspects have been arrested when they attempted to sell a Buddha statue made of a Blue Sapphire for Rs. 6 billion in Moneragala yesterday, Police said.

According to information received by the officers of the Moneragala Crime Investigation Division, the suspects were preparing to sell the 2 inch Buddha statue at Kumbukkana area.

The arrested suspects, aged 20, 26, 30 and 40 were identified as residents of Rabewa, Anuradhapura and Peradeniya.

They would be produced before the Moneragala Magistrate's Court today.

    Exactly what's wrong with that?? In US and other countries people are encouraged to excavate and explore the hidden and buried treasures but here the arrest warrant is always ready for the CRIME that's not at all a crime.
