U.S. Ambassador Alaina B. Teplitz informed Foreign Relations Minister Dinesh Gunawardane that she would convey to Washington Sri Lanka’s concerns regarding travel restrictions on Army Commander Lt. Gen. Shavendra Silva.
An embassy spokesman told Daily Mirror the ambassador and the Foreign Minister had a productive meeting.
“It underscored the United States’ desire to continue building the U.S. - Sri Lanka relationship in mutually beneficial ways including around security issues,” the spokesman said.(Kelum Bandara)
