Prime Minister Ranil Wickremesinghe is reported to have yesterday sought Cabinet approval to purchase a bullet proof vehicle for Opposition Leader Mahinda Rajapaksa.
The Cabinet paper submitted by the Premier was postponed for next week on the basis that Finance Minister Mangala Samaraweera had different views.
Informed sources said the Finance Minister had pointed out that the people would find fault with the government for buying such luxury vehicles at a difficult time such as this.
The other ministers, however, were non-committal about the proposal. (Kelum Bandara)

Please go ahead and purchase all the safety and luxury for you all and let the population starve to death. Make hay while you can, cause you pack your bags for a very long vacation as the public is sick of you politicians.

Mangala is quite right. The PM is quite wrong. Why does this PM want to bum suck the Rajapakshas when the country under his Government is at a crisis. It has always been so for the pasy four years.
