Old Trinitians beat Old Royalists 5.5 to 3.5 to win the coveted G. C. Wickramasinghe Trophy at the annual Bradby Golf 2021 event which took place at the picturesque Victoria Golf and Country Resort (VGCR) in Rajawella last week-end.
The 6th edition featured 40 experienced players and also included old boys who flew in from overseas especially to take part in this popular board event at VGCR.
The tally stands in favor of the Kandy School 4/2 at present.
Meanwhile the Longest Drive in the 18th hole was won by former Trinity rugby skipper B. N. R. Fernando while Tharanga Gunasekera won nearest to the PIN award on the 7th hole.
Gamini Jayaweera (RC) and Surain Premathilake (TCK) were the stand in skippers as both originally appointed captains Fazley Azhar (TCK) and Ananda Jayasekera (RC) were not available for the event.
The colorful event was organised by the Old Trinitians with Trinity College Principal Father Araliya Jayasundera gracing the occasion as Chief Guest.
Former Trinity rugby skipper and Trinity Lion, B. N. R. Fernando (TCK) and Anel De Silva (RC) will lead the outfits at the next event.
