Singer Sri Lanka PLC yesterday announced that the organization had come forward to sponsor the Asian Rugby Football Union Junior Rugby Championships 2014.
The tournament will be played over three match days at the Colombo Racecourse Ground from September 21-27.
The Junior Asian Rugby Championship is an IRB-sanctioned competition for emerging countries, between the hosts, Hong Kong, Chinese Taipei and South Korea.
At this occasion, the Singer Sri Lanka PLC handed over the tournament and Junior National Team sponsorship packages.
SLRFU President Asanga Seneviratne said that Sri Lanka needed a scientific infrastructure to develop the local game to international standards.
