The curtains of the Under -19 Division Three Tier A limited over cricket tournament conducted by the Sri Lanka Schools Cricket Association with the support of Sri Lanka Cricket will come down with the clash for honours between Jaffna Central and Vidyaloka MV scheduled to be played on Saturday (4) at Nalanda ground in
Campbell Place.
In the run up to the final Jaffna Central led by B. Inthujan came out on top in the Group F segment with wins against Skandavarodaya MV Chunnakam, Hindu College Kokuvil, Hindu College Jaffna and St. Patrick’s College Jaffna in the first round.
In the pre-quarter final the Centraliates defeated Polonnaruwa, St Joseph’s Wattala in the quarter final and Rajasinghe Central Hanwella in the semi-final.
Vidyaloka MV led by Pasindu Lakshan on the other hand emerged the top team in the Group J segment with wins against Debarawewa National School and Wanduramba Central College in the first round.
They overcame Badulla Central College in the pre-quarter final round while the quarter-final encounter against Ibbagamuwa Central ended in a no result before getting the better of Methodist High School Moratuwa in the semi-final.
