Sri Lanka’s Crystal Palace and Police SC secure wins

Police SC’s Nebeel Sardeen scored two goals against Solid SC

Crystal Palace Football Club Gampola and Police Sports Club recorded victories in their respective FFSL Champions’ League Group ‘A’ and Group ‘B’ matches, which were played at the Race Course ground, Colombo.

Organised by the Football Federation of Sri Lanka (FFSL) with the participation of 14 top-tier clubs, the Champions League tournament ran from November 19, 2025, to January 25, 2026 and all preliminary round matches of the competition have now been completed.

In Group ‘A’, Crystal Palace defeated Negombo Youth 3–0 in a one-sided encounter. The goals were scored by Sinnarasa Askari in the 55th minute, Michael Acquaye in the 72nd minute and Isaac Ana in the 85th minute. 

Askari was adjudged the Best Player of the Match for an impressive performance.

The Group ‘B’ final-round match between Police SC and Solid SC turned out to be a closely contested affair, with the former emerging victorious 2–1. Nebeel Sardeen scored both goals for Police SC earning him the Man of the Match award.

The lone goal for Solid SC was scored by Mensah Prince in the 68th minute. A notable incident in the match occurred in the 55th minute, when Samantha Nishantha of Police SC was shown the red card and sent off for an illegal act.
