Army Sports Club left it late to gun down Air Force Sports Club 28 (five tries, one penalty) – 13 (one try, one conversion, one penalty) with three late tries at Ratmalana today (31).

Having led 8 – 6 at half-time courtesy of a try from centre Madushanka Chadrasekara and a penalty from scrum-half Chamath Fernando in reply to two penalties from Air Force fly-half Gayantha Iddamalgoda, Army had to do it the harder way towards the end of the game.

While the big Fijian centre Tomasi Caqusa touched down for Army Sports Club, Air Force kept themselves in the game thanks to their overseas player Tuteovuya James leaving the scores tied on 13 - all.

However, the Soldiers put up a sensational display in the last 20 minutes of the game to record a convincing victory as fly-half Ashan Bandara, hooker Aravinda Karunathilake and full-back Sachin Gamage all touched down for Army.
