SL shuttlers excel in Nepal

Sri Lanka won two Silver Medals and three Bronze Medals at the South Asian Under-21 Badminton Championships, which concluded in Kathmandu, Nepal yesterday (02).

Sri Lanka won the Bronze Medal in the Team Championship and bagged two Silver Medals and two Bronze Medals in the individual events.

Ranthushka Sansidu was the key shuttler for Sri Lanka with two Silver Medals in the individual events.

Ranthushka, was the runner-up in the Boys’ Singles and later he won the mixed doubles Silver Medal partnered with Dilmi Dias.

In addition, Hasini Ambalangodage reached the semi-finals of the Women’s Singles event and managed to take the Bronze Medal.

Chirath Illeperuma and Chamath Dias also won the Men’s Doubles Bronze Medal when they reached the semi-finals. (SP)
