Sri Lanka’s Nadeesha Dilhani Lekamge put up a fine performance to win a Silver Medal on the opening day of the 22 Asian Track and Field Athletics Championship which commenced at the Kalinga Stadium in Bhubaneswar, India on Thursday.
Nadeesha took the Silver Medal in the Women’s javelin throw with a performance of 57.11 metres.
China’s Li Lingwgan won the Gold Medal in this event with an effort of 63.06 seconds while India’s Annu Rani took the Bronze Medal with a performance of 57.32 seconds.
Meanwhile, Sri Lanka’s Manjula Wijesekera (Men’s high jump) and Nirmali Madushika (Women’s 400m) also qualified to compete in the second round of their respective events.
