Tom Moody, who has been sent with the touring squad to England by Sri Lanka Cricket (SLC), is guiding the young players well, sources told the Daily Mirror.

“He is actively involved in coaching. His experience will prove to be an asset to the country,” one of the sources said.

“SLC was criticized in the media for sending him to England but the members of the touring squad speak highly about him,” the source, who is in England, said.

“The work by the new physio (Brett Harrop) has also been appreciated by the team members”.
Interestingly, Harrop’s wife, Gwen is also a physiotherapist in New Zealand.
Harrop was scheduled to treat Dhananjaya Lakshan on Wednesday.
The 22-year-old all-rounder has some minor issues with his knee.

It may not be a very serious injury to the player but he was to be rested for the 50-over practice game on Wednesday and the next practice match as well.

“The players will take both the practice matches seriously. English umpires (Lancashire) are officiating these matches. We are to play the second practice match (it will be a T20 match) on Friday”, the source added.
Lakshan suffered an injury to his right knee while fielding during a training session on Monday (14).
The player is undergoing rehabilitation and will not take part in the two practice matches.
