redress to people affected by Covid-19 in performing legal obligations New law soon

The government has worked out a piece of legislation to be enacted giving redress for people who fail to perform certain legal requirements due to the pandemic.    

The new piece of legislation titled ‘Coronavirus Disease 2019 (Covid-19) (Temporary Provisions) Bill will give relief for people who are unable to carry out legal obligations within the stipulated time due to the corona situation.  
The bill, once enacted, will also provide for references of cases to alternate courts due to circumstances triggered by Covid-19. Also, courts will be able to conduct proceedings using remote communication technology to facilitate the containment of the pandemic.   It seeks to give relief to people who fail to carry out contractual obligations due to the pandemic.
