As reported on the 15 of September in the Daily Mirror Newspaper, quoting me saying, “No option left but to remove incumbent President – government using force” at a media briefing on the 13 September 2022 is misleading public and does not reflect my observation. Therefore, we request you to correct and re-publish what I only said. Not only that, but the report also contained statements that I had not uttered at all. For example, “We had no choice but to use force to topple the Gotabaya Rajapaksa administration, and we don’t have any option left today either,” In another “, We were accused of entering state property, including the President’s house.
What else could we do? We have to repeat the same things, and this time we will.” I never said anything as such at all.

Undoubtedly, this irresponsible and intentional disinformation circulated by your newspaper may create or give the wrong impression of our party – the FLSP.

In stark contrast, Another English daily published what I said on the same day (13th September) on 15Th September, “The FSP calls people to oust Government” – “The Government has not learnt that people engage in protests because they no longer can put up with hardships. We have no other option but to beat off this government. Ranil Wickremesinghe says that he has no home to go to. He should not go home; he should be sent to prison for the crimes he had committed,”. I think you will be able to differentiate of reporting of your newspaper and the Island.
