Special counters for foreigners at BIA closed

The special counters which were opened by the Department of Immigration and Emigration at the Bandaranaike International Airport for the benefit of the foreign nationals, have been closed, informed sources said.  

The special counters were opened on April 24 following a decision taken by a committee appointed by President Ranil Wickremesinghe.   

Those involved in the tourism sector complained that it is not clear as to who gave orders to close these counters.
