SJB MPs have decided to boycott Parliament to hide divisions within the party, Chief Government Whip Johnston Fernando told the House on Saturday.

Fernando said SJB is divided even in its decision to walk out of Parliament. “ Some SJB MPs called me and said their party made a foolish decision to walk out,” he said.

“ We have also heard that some SJB MPs including Sarath Fonseka and Patali Champika Ranawaka have decided to sabotage Opposition Leader Sajith Premadasa’s political future” he added.

He said SJB MPs may have got frightened thinking the government might come up with details regarding corrective deals during the last regime. “ I will make disclosures only in front of SJB MPs,” he said.
