Police team to probe domestic gas explosions

  • In the event of a gas accident , the OIC of the relevant area should inform the relevant gas company and the officer in charge of the relevant division
  • Representatives from Litro and Laugfs have also been appointed to assist in the police investigations

Senior DIG in charge of the Western Province Deshabandu Tennakoon has been appointed as the Coordinating Officer for the Police Investigations into accidents caused by leaks, fires or explosions in domestic gas cylinders. 

In the event of a gas accident in any area, the OIC of the relevant area should inform the relevant gas company and the officer in charge of the relevant division, Senior DIG Deshabandu Tennakoon.  


Representatives from Litro and Laugfs have also been appointed to assist in the police investigations.  
IGP C. D. Wickramaratne has sent this instruction to all the Senior DIGs in charge of the provinces, the DIGs in charge of the districts, the officers in charge of the divisions and the HQIs.
