Over 400,000 people vaccinated in a single day

• At present, the number of people who have received the first dose of  vaccine in Sri Lanka stands at 7,839,638 while 1,882,693 people have  received both the doses
• The first dose of Sinopharm vaccine was given to 356,628 people and  the number of people who received the second dose was 55,722

The highest number of vaccinations in Sri Lanka so far against Covid-19 was administered on Monday, the Epidemiology Unit of the Health Ministry said.  

According to the ministry statistics, 437,878 people were inoculated on Monday alone. The first dose of the Sinopharm vaccine was given to 356,628 people and the number of people who received the second dose was 55,722.  
Also, the first dose of the Moderna vaccine was given to 25,240 people on Monday.  The Epidemiology Unit announced that 108 doses of the Pfizer vaccine were given yesterday.
