Octane 95 available for next six weeks-Minister

US$ 6.5 Mn. paid for two gas shipments

Power and Energy Minister Kanchana Wijesekera yesterday said that with the unloading fuel from two cargo freighters Octane 95 petrol will be available for the next six weeks  


In a twitter message the Minister said that the authorities started to supply Octane 95 petrol to filling stations island wide from yesterday.  

He requested Octane 95 users not to stay in lines for 92 Petrol and to obtain 95 Petrol from tomorrow.  
A shipment of around 40000 MT of petrol under Indian credit line reached Sri Lanka yesterday, Indian High Commission in Sri Lanka confirmed.  


Meanwhile, LITRO Gas Lanka Ltd. has paid US$ 6.5 million yesterday for the next two shipment of LP gas, LITRO officials said.  


LITRO Chairman, Vijitha Herath stated that payment for 7,500 MT of gas has been made, and the first 3,500 MT cargo is scheduled to reach Colombo on Thursday
