New committee of selections approved: Parliament

Parliament yesterday approved the new committee on selections which comprises 12 members from both government and opposition members.  

The 12 members include Nimal Siripala de Silva, Dinesh Gunawardena, Johnston Fernando, Douglas Devananda, Dullas Alahapperuma, Wimal Weerawansha, Prasanna Ranatunga, Lakshman Kiriella, Gayantha Karunatilleke, Rauff Hakeem, Vijitha Herath and Selvam Adaikalanathan.  

The committee on selections is responsible for the appointment of committees and other important matters pertaining to the House.
