A new mobile application has been introduced by the Health Ministry to help the general public to get an understanding about their health during the COVID-19 pandemic.

The application which is called ‘Self Shield’ has been launched in collaboration with the Health Informatics Society of Sri Lanka (HISSL) and the Commonwealth Centre for Digital Health (CWCDH).

“The app will help users to check their health condition within a few minutes, obtain medical reports and thereby, prompt them to seek medical assistance,” the Health Ministry said.

“The app will also provide room for users to connect with the Health Ministry’s COVID-19 programme where the browser data will be examined by a group of medical officers. They will provide necessary medical advice to users accordingly,” it added.

Therefore, the Ministry requests the public to register with this to keep track of their health at home.
