Government MP Pramitha Bandara Tennakoon yesterday requested the Speaker to conduct an investigation into the release of a video of the incidents that took place inside the Parliament chambers last Friday, to private media.

He told Parliament that the incidents that took place inside the Parliament chambers last Friday had been recorded by someone from a box on the left side to the Speaker’s Chair and released the video to private media.
He said it was a threat to the security of the Members of Parliament and the proceedings of the House.

“This is an illegal act. We request the Speaker to conduct an investigation into this and ascertain who was behind the incident and to take action,” he said.
