Kap Planting ceremony at Kataragama

The Kap Planting ceremony at the Ruhunu Kataragama Maha Devala was held on Saturday morning with the participation of Basnayake Nilame Dishan Gunasekara.  
Basnayake Nilame said the Esala festival would commence on June 18 and last till July 03. He said according to tradition, the Kap planting ceremony should be performed 45 days prior to the festival.
