Disclosures by Pandora and Panama Papers Muruththettuwe Ananda Thera requests Prez to order probe

Head of Rata Rakina Jana Handa Organization Ven. Muruththettuwe Ananda Thera in a letter addressed to President Gotabaya Rajapaksa had requested him to order a probe on the disclosures made by Pandora Papers recently and Panama Papers in 2016.   

“We are happy that you have ordered the Bribery Commission to probe Thiru Nadesan whose name was disclosed by Pandora Papers as one person who has been holding black money.   

Also, a Sinhalese paper on 10 /10 /21 has disclosed that Pandora Papers have discovered 93 Sri Lankans who are allegedly holding black money. 

Daily Mirror in 2016 disclosed that Panama Papers have discovered 65 names of Sri Lankans who were holding black money then. Therefore, we request you to order a vast probe on all these papers,” the Thera said in his letter.   

“These investigations should be carried out in an independent and transparent manner, while those who are found guilty should be penalized irrespective of their status,” he added.
