Following reports that former MP Ranjan Ramanayake’s belongings were to be evicted from the MP’s official quarters in Madiwela next week, event organiser Chandimal Jayasinghe said that he will hand over one of his three houses to Ramanayake.

Chandimal Jayasinghe in a video on his Facebook page said that all arrangements will be made for Ranjan to live in one of his houses on the day of his release.

It was reported that imprisoned Ramanayake’s belongings will have to be evicted from his Madiwela house.  Ramanayake was given a three-month grace period to keep his belongings in his MP’s quarters until a house could be found. The grace period will end on the 20th of this month.

Following the conviction on charges of contempt of court, the Parliamentary seat of Ranjan Ramanayake was rendered vacant in April this year and later was sworn in by Ajith Mannapperuma.
