Head of the 43rd Brigade Samagi Jana Balawegaya (SJB) MP Patali Champika Ranawaka who had taken a different stance on the government has put forward conditions for Prime Minister Ranil Wickremesinghe before he decides on extending any support to the government.

In a letter addressed to Prime Minister Wickremesinghe, Mr. Ranawaka while congratulating the former put forward his six conditions.

He had requested Mr. Wickremesinghe to inform the nation the programme he intends to pursue in getting emergency relief to ensure availability of essential goods, come up openly with the Prime Minister’s views on ensuring economic stability, to establish a process where the Galle Face protesters can monitor the steps taken by Parliament to fulfill their proposals, A programme to avoid corruption especially during election time which is similar to the Hong Kong or Singaporean model, making Central Bank a totally independent institution and bring in legislation to make it responsible to Parliament, and converting intelligence units into independent institutions.
“We expect you to be open as you were during the 100 day programme of the Yahapalana government and to let us know the economic and political road map of your government. We shall decide on supporting the government only after studying these road maps,” he also said in his letter.
