Civil Aviation Authority of Sri Lanka (CAASL) has given approval to all airlines carrying fully vaccinated passengers without any limitation to the number of passengers allowed per flight with effect from yesterday, the CAASL said yesterday.

However, the decision will not apply to restricted countries. However, passengers with negative PCR test result 72 hours prior to the arrival in Sri Lanka, should have received both the doses of the COVID preventive vaccine. The passengers who had completed 14 days after receiving the second dose are eligible to land in Sri Lanka.
On  their arrival, the passengers would be subject to another PCR test at the tourist hotel where they would be lodging. A close monitoring will be done and if the results  were negative, the passengers will then be released to their homes.

It is also said that the flights  arriving in Sri Lanka, maintaining of social distance would be abolished and passengers could be accommodated as per the seating arrangements available in the aircraft, CAASL Chairman added.
