The Advanced Level Examination (A/L) which was scheduled for November this year would be delayed by one month, Education Minister Susil Premajayantha said yesterday.

He told Parliament that results of the previous year’s A/L examination were expected to be released on August 15.

The Minister said students should get at least three months after releasing the previous year’s results so that students hoping to resit the examination could prepare for it.
Responding to a question raised by Chief Opposition Whip Lakshman Kiriella, the Minister said the deadline for Grade One admission could also be extended.

MP Kiriella said some parents have requested that the deadline for Grade One admission should be extended as most Divisional Secretariats have closed due to the prevailing crisis situation.
