18-day global campaign on violence against women Women MPs clad in orange sarees in Parliament yesterday

All women MPs was seen clad in orange sarees yesterday to mark the 18-day campaign which is carried out all over the globe on violence against women.  

State Minister of Women and Child Affairs Geetha Kumarasinghe was also seen clad in an orange saree.  


Leader of the House Susil Premajayantha who noted the dress pattern of women MPs, queried about it. “May be there is some specialty behind the dress pattern of Women MPs today,” he said.  


SJB MP Rohini Kaviratne said the orange sarees are a part of the campaign on violence against women.
