Japan Expo Premier to begin in Colombo tomorrow

Japan Expo Premier Sri Lanka 2017 will be held at the BMICH in Colombo from the 03rd to 05th this month, Chairperson of the Japan Expo Sri Lanka Exhibition Committee Mikiyo Furusawa said recently.
 The exhibition is being jointly organized by the Japanese Embassy in Sri Lanka and the Sri Lankan Embassy in Japan.
 There are 3 key objectives in Japan Expo Sri Lanka, which are cultural dissemination, opportunities for Small and Medium Enterprises and regional revitalization.
 “We want to organize this event for a friendship and a cultural exchange between Japan and Sri Lanka, and for disseminating information on Japanese industry, culture, and product to Sri Lanka,” the organizers said.
 Furusawa announced that Ayako Kobayashi, the actress who played the role of Oshin in the Oshin teledrama which became much popular among viewers in Sri Lanka will be the special guest at the exhibition.
 Demonstrating the beauty of the traditional Japanese culture and the technology that craftsmen have inherited from generations, workshops will be conducted on flower arrangement, tea ceremony, and tatami workshop during the expo.
 Digital films of Japan, Sumo sport, traditional Japanese flower arrangements, Japanese food as well as Japanese cultural events will be included in the exhibition.
