Lanka Indian Oil Private Bowser Owners' Association (LIOPBOA) has refrained from fuel transportation services from midnight yesterday.

Association's Chairman Kusum Sandanayake said since Ceylon Petrolium Corporation (CPC) bowser owner's association have solicited their support for their trade union action.

So we have decided offer our support to them and refrained from handling fuel transportation, Sandanayake said.

He said a letter indicating their stance was sent to the Lanka IOC Managing Director subsequent to the meeting held between CPC bowser owner's association and power and energy minister Kanchana Wijesekara on April 30.

They said the decision was taken since CPC bowser owners did not receive a positive response to the revision to the fuel transport charges. (Chaturanga Samarawickrama)
