Bodies of executive, son found in water tank in Akmeemana

The bodies of a planning executive officer of a factory in Akmeemana and his 8-year old son were found in a water tank of the factory.

Police said the officer of a factory in the Bataduwa area in Akmeemana visited the factory over an official matter accompanying his 8-year-old son on Friday.

The officer was inspecting the underground water tanks built to cool the company's machinery and had not returned for a long time.

The employees then searched for the officer and they recovered the body of the boy inside a water tank and the body of the father was found later in the tank and were taken to the Karapitiya Hospital for an autopsy.

The deceased were from Thalgampola in Akmeemana.
