There is a former top team member bereft of any high office these days. However, he continues to be a Diyawanna member occupying a front row in the council.

A great lover, this politico is known to have gone to great lengths to ensure the happiness of his ladylove.

However, the lady, a Hippocratic oath-taker is said to be gallivanting around the Ampara area with another elderly gent these days. This ‘new couple’ often travels to Ampara by a helicopter owned by a local airline named after a popular flower of the Land of the Rising Sun.

The reason why the ‘new couple’ frequently travels to Ampara when there are more interesting and alluring tourist destinations in the county is no secret to those close to the elderly gent, who now appears to have ousted the former top team member from his ladylove’s affections. They say that the elderly gent has set his heart on winning a seat from the Ampara District at the upcoming general poll.

Meanwhile, the former top team member is said to be wondering with a heavy heart these days whether his true love nurtured at a heavy cost and with much devotion would end up with the merry-go-rounds in Ampara.
