Inconveniences at supermarkets

People go to a supermarket because it has been designed for the convenience of customers. But lately there seems to be delays at cashiers due to the deployment of trainees. While it is important to provide employment for youngsters supermarket chains should also look at training them with proper skills and ensure that customers are not inconvenienced. Another concept introduced by most supermarkets is the provision of cooked meals. Perhaps these meals are cooked from vegetables that are nearing expiry date and is a tactic to reduce wastage. However, the issue lies in deploying individuals that are not experienced for their job to operate these counters. Sometimes an employee with cashier training is sent to serve food, causing delays. Customers languish in long queues, waiting for their turn to order the food. This is not what is expected from so-called supermarket chains in the country. There has to be some kind of method to ensure that they provide the best of their services to customers. In overseas supermarkets there are hardly any queues because the cashier counters are fully automated and customers have the option of billing items on their own. Perhaps it’s high time to incorporate these systems into local supermarkets to reduce queues and avoid delays.
