Three new MPs H. M. D. B. Herath, Manoj Sirisena and Shantha Bandara were sworn in before Deputy Speaker Ananda Kumarasiri yesterday.
Mr Herath was sworn in place of Kurunegala District MP Salinda Dissanayake and Manoj Sirisena was sworn in place of Matara District MP Chandrasiri Gajadeera who passed away recently.
Shantha Bandara was sworn in as national list MP. He resigned earlier from his post as a National List MP in order to be sworn in as the Kurunegala District MP after the demise of Mr Dissanayake but was prevented by the Election Commission who gazetted the name of Mr Herath instead.
