A Syrian family attempting to enter Sri Lanka using fraudulent documents was arrested at the BIA and was deported, Immigration and Emigration Department officials said.
They said that the family consisting of a husband (29) who is a Dentist, his wife (28) and their one-year- old child had used forged United Arab Emirates passports. They arrived at the Immigration Counter claiming they were visiting Sri Lanka.
The officials examined them on suspicion of their UAE Passports found three of their original Syrian passports in their luggage.The officials, later deported them to Dubai on the same flight, in which they
had arrived.
