Sri Lanka’s largest importer and supplier of LP gas, Litro Gas Lanka is gearing up to establish an oxygen manufacturing plant and distribution network in Kerawalapitiya.
The company announced via a media statement a short while ago that following the instruction given by President Gotabaya Rajapaksa and Presidential Task Force Head Basil Rajapaksa, the state-of-the-art oxygen manufacturing facility will be constructed over a land area of 25 acres.
“As the country experiences an increasing need for oxygen to treat COVID-19 affected patients, the health authorities have conveyed to the Presidential Task Force that a greater need is likely to occur for oxygen," Litro Gas Lanka said.
Land for the project has already been procured from the Sri Lanka Land Development Corporation. The purchase agreement for the same was inked earlier today.
Keeping with the state evaluation of land value, Litro Gas Lanka has already placed an advance payment of Rs.500 million towards the purchase of the land.
