LPG stoves worth Rs.3 million were distributed among the housewives of some 430 low-income families in Kesbewa Urban Council area recently.
The gas cookers were purchased and distributed from the fund allocated by former Western Provincial Council member Amal Silva at the Piliyandala Divisional Secretariat Office.
Speaking to the crowd at the event, Mr.Silva said he would continue to work for the people across the province though he was elected by the people in Ratmalana, Moratuwa and Dehiwala areas.
He said he will never leave the people behind in his political journey which commenced following the demise of his brother Anura Silva, who was killed in a bomb attack. “I will continue to work for the people’s welfare,” he said. Members of the Kesbewa UC were also present at the event.
