The Food and Agriculture Organization (FAO) of the United Nations had assured its support to Sri Lanka in obtaining assistance to obtain food, as the food shortage in the nation grows, Prime Minister Ranil Wickremesinghe said.
“ FAO in a discussion with me assured that it will assist Sri Lanka to get international assistance to overcome the growing food shortage” Prime Minister Wickremesinghe said in his latest Facebook post.
“ We will ensure that our citizens are not left without food,” he added.
Meanwhile sources close to Wickremesinghe said he had decided not to use Temple trees but to function from his office down Flower Road. He did not reside at Temple Trees during the Yahapalana government but only went there for official purposes.
