A probe has revealed that a total of 425 people from the Western Province had obtained the COVISHIELD second dose in Galle violating quarantine regulations on June 5 and 7, the Health authorities said.
A total of 632 individuals had received the second dose of the AstraZeneca vaccine in Galle on the relevant dates out of which 425 persons were from the Western province.
State Minister Channa Jayasuma earlier told in Parliament that an investigation would be carried out on the relevant incident after it was reported by media.

If the vaccination is not transparent and cannot be conducted following the issued health guidelines, people will tend to lose confidence with the vaccination program of the government.

It takes two hands to clap. The ones who gave the jab are responsible not the recipients. If the authorities had refused after checking their identities it would not have occured

All these irregularities happened due to no order and system and the Political authorities to be blamed. No accountability, and no responsibility.

No privilege to jump the line to be vaccinated ..when we read the side effects that might happen to that ONE in thousand or what ever who got vaccinated ..and those who get positive even after ,,so isolate and be careful...so it might be great to wait

I personally dont see any wrong doing. We saw how people flocked in Abeyrama and other places where the 2nd dose was inoculated. People were frustrated of not being able to get their second dose and the fear of end of life time of the 1st. Government did not have any plan and people were not properly informed when and where they would get their 2nd dose. This was a complete failure of the system and not people. It was the vaccine that they obtained to save them and the country from the Pandemic. What should be investigated is why the whole drive was sabotaged and atleast a few hundreds were deprived of their 2nd Vaccine dose.
