The All-Ceylon Joint Wildlife Officers’ Association (ACJWOA) today decided to resort to an island-wide trade union action against the Wildlife State Minister for not making a decision to protect the national resources in the country.
ACJWOA Chairman Prabash Karunathilake told the Daily Mirror that the token action will be held for not taking any action to protect the land areas belongings to the Polonnaruwa Flood Plains National Park as well.
He said the State Minister has not changed his decision to destroy the national and biological resources of the country as yet.
Earlier, a token strike was held on November 27 against the State Minister's action to allocate a portion of the land belonging to the Polonnaruwa Flood Plains National Park and distribute among cultivators who earlier had destroyed this land to make a roadway.
Accordingly, all operations at Wildlife Department will be suspended today, except the services provided to Sri Lanka Premier League (LPL), Mr. Dissanayake added. (Chaturanga Samarawickrama)

Kick this politician out who is doing politics instead of protecting wildlife interest.

This is the mentality of uneducated ministers, and it is the fault of the voters, for electing them as their law makers.
