The discussion began at around 9:45 pm and lasted for over an hour.
Meanwhile, media spokesman of the SLFP, parliamentarian Weerakumara Dissanayaka at a news briefing held at the party office today said the SLFP was ready to discuss any issue with any political party and added President Sirisena met Mr. Premadasa following a request made by UNP General Secretary, Minister Kariyawasam.
Pressed by journalists, Mr. Dissanayaka did not rule out the possibility of a UNP – SLFP alliance in the event, the attempts to form an alliance led by SLFP – SLPP becomes a flop. (Sandun A. Jayasekera)
